419 Scam Letters

This is a collection of Letters relating to the ongoing 4-1-9 Scam. You'll probably get them in your email if you don't have proper SPAM or phisher protection. People writing these are really stupid and most reside in Lagos, Nigeria. Never trust anyone from Nigeria when it comes to doing business online.

I received the instruction from my boss to send to you the sum of $800,000 which is an internationally certified bank draft.
You are therefore advised to come down to Benin Republic in other to pick this draft which has already been drawn in your name. I want you to note that you are required to arrange for your coming down at once to receive this draft as I have other assignments outside this location.

When you finalize your arrangement to come, give me a call on this number: 229-93-415957 to furnish me with your flight intenary to enable me come and meet you at the Airport.Or if you cannot come down here in person then send your address where i can courier your check to you ok.
I await your response.
Yours Sincerely,
Eloo Derra.

Anyone doing business on-line should take precautions. Doing this internationally requires additional precautions... but I encourage you to reconsider and reword the following description at the top of your website... it presents racist stereotypes, associating stupidity and theft with the people of Nigeria, most of whom are intelligent and honest...

"People writing these are really stupid and most reside in Lagos, Nigeria. Never trust anyone from Nigeria when it comes to doing business online."

When you get the cah giz a tenner!

Hmm.. u dont like transactions done with nigerians. Well, now i know that its not simple to convey this without being termed as racist. I agree with u!

(^_^)

was it real or a scam?did you travel to the place?

Read the keyword in the title of this blog, SCAM.

It's not racist at all. I don't do business with American Republicans but that doesn't mean I hate white people, it just means I hate being lied to and ripped-off.

What sort of "online business transactions" would you want to conduct based on an unsolicited email anyway?

It isn't just letters any more. I was online when a chat request came in over IM. This person represented themselves as a 26 year old male. He told me his father was from West Africa, his mother was American but had emigrated to Holland with his father to raise a family. He said his father had gone home to attend to family holdings in Africa when he was killed by...??? (I don't remember)

Over the course of 20 minutes of IM, he told me how beautiful I was (my picture is not posted where he would see it under that name) and that he liked older women (I am 50)and wanted to 'help me out' by giving me some of his family's money. BUT I would have to come get it or send my bank account number etc. at that point I was called away to attend to other matters business matters at http://www.diamond-profits.info

A girlfriend of mine has also experienced the same thing.
So apparently they are now preying on single older women with flattery from a supposedly younger man who has money.
Gotta be careful

I once got one of those Nigerian scam emails (in a junk hotmail account). I wrote back, posimg as a sucker, but their mailbox was "full" . Too bad, I was going to write back a la something awful.

They're called Nigerian scams because they actually originate in Nigeria. Nigeria doesn't exactly consider the 419 scam a law enforecement concern so scammers are free to operate there. Anyone dumb enough to fall for this almost deserves what they get.

Many scams originate in Montreal and Toronto. They're somewhat more sophisticated though.

nishu, nice racist jokes and sexist ranting on your blog there bud. Women can't ride bicycles - are you insane?

take a look at http://mymoney.iafrica.com/scamwatch/

Wow, you are going to get $800.000.00. Those extra decimals mean you'll be extra rich.
